Senior Grant Accountant – Effingham, IL

JOB TITLE: Senior Grant Accountant – Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) Program

Job Summary:C.E.F.S. is currently hiring for the position of full-time Senior Grant Accountant. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities include completing grant reports, monitoring budgetary performance against actual results, preparing journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, and reconciling bank statements and other financial documents, assisting in the preparation of grant and agency-wide budgets, performing financial analysis, providing recommendations to improve financial performance, and assisting with the annual fiscal audit.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of three years’ experience as a full-cycle accountant with three years’ experience with grant reporting in a non-profit environment preferred. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree with a minimum of ten years’ experience as a full-cycle bookkeeper with at least three years’ experience with grant reporting required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Position is based in Effingham, IL with travel required to attend meetings within the 13-county LWIA23 area and trainings as applicable.
