Join us as we talk with Jessica Schuyler-Weir from the Illinois Assistive Technology Program to learn more about accessible Information Communications Technology (ICT). Participants will be provided with a brief overview of the laws and guidelines that govern accessible ICT, as well as learn several easy-to-implement universal design concepts that will allow you to immediately begin producing documents, flyers, and brochures that are more accessible to your audience.

Key topics include:

  • An understanding of ICT laws and guidelines
  • What makes a font accessible and how color contract choices can make or break accessibility
  • An understanding of inclusive writing and adjusting the reading level to reach more customers

Jessica Schuyler-Weir, MS, ATP has been with the Illinois Assistive Technology Program for 16 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Assistive Technology and Human Services and the Assistive Technology Professional certification from RESNA. She has completed over 1000 assistive technology evaluations for customers of Illinois’ vocational rehabilitation program and through IATP’s Illinois State Board of Education grants. Currently, Jessica serves as IATP’s Training Manager.
