Policy and Program Development
As a result of ongoing interaction with the energy assistance stakeholders, IACAA is in a unique position to provide analyses of current energy assistance issues and to develop innovative policy and program alternatives. In this area:
- IACAA provides assistance to the IDHFS and CAAs through focus group discussions that inform new program development initiatives.
- IACAA provides member CAAs with timely updates on energy legislative and policy issues.
- IACAA provides technical assistance to the Illinois General Assembly and the U.S. Congress concerning the nature of low-income energy issues and possible policy alternatives.
