Head Start Director - CAPCIL - Lincoln
Head Start Birth to Five, a program of Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois located in Lincoln, Illinois, is searching for a Head Start Director. Central Illinois Head Start serves 418 children annually and we currently have twelve (12) sites across our six-county central Illinois community. The Head Start Program strives to foster intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth.
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in the human service or education field (such as Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Administration, Management, Social Work, or a related field).
- Minimum of three years of experience in Early Childhood Education or in a Community Service Agency.
- Minimum of one year in supervision, administration, program development or management experience.
- Ability to plan and implement new methods and techniques for continuous growth and development in the program.
- Strong financial and administrative background.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills when relating to staff, children, parents, community groups and professionals.
- Experience in government relations.
- Prior Head Start experience is a plus.

Chief Financial Officer – CEDA of Cook County – Chicago

CEDA is seeking a highly skilled, technically strong Chief Financial Officer to manage the finance and accounting functions of the organization. This position will be a good match for an individual who has demonstrated success in a multi-program private not-for-profit environment and who has both the leadership skills and strategic perspective necessary to serve the organization as a valued member of the executive team.
In addition to being technically competent in all areas of financial management including audit, cash management, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, treasury, etc., successful candidates will also need a strong service orientation to ensure that all areas of the organization are receiving the information and analyses necessary for sound decision making.
To be successful, you will have:
- Not-for-profit experience is highly preferred
- 15 to 20 years of increasingly more responsible financial management experience with a minimum of 7 years in a leadership capacity, successfully managing and developing a strong team
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field. An MBA or Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting is preferred
- CPA is preferred
- Not-for-profit financial management experience including experience with multiple programs is essential
- Grant management experience including reporting
- Knowledge of and experience with Office of Management and Budget regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the proven ability to work at all levels both inside and outside an organization
- Strategic perspective and team orientation and a demonstrated ability to build partnerships
